Effect of Clinical Skills Evaluation by Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) Method on Clinical Performance of Operating Room Students

Background: Evaluation is an essential and integral part of medical education. Based on the evidence, current common methods are less effective due to lack accurate assessment students' clinical skills. Clinical evaluation students in form direct observation practical situations will increase their ability deal with events specific patient situations. Objectives: In this study, effectiveness procedural skills (DOPS) method was compared performance operating room students. Methods: This quasi-experimental study performed 30 final-year 2019 who had internship course. Students were randomly assigned two groups control (n = 15) intervention 15). The done by traditional group DOPS group. Data collection a researcher-made checklist whose validity reliability confirmed. Statistical analysis data SPSS-20 software using descriptive statistics chi-square test, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney test.
